Grampy Blanket (Part II)
Ready for the second part of the Grampy Blanket crochet pattern?
Now that we have all the squares and half squares joined, is time to fill the gaps between them so we can turn these panels into a rectangle shape.
STEP 3
Notes:
. Hook 4.5mm.
. Ch counts as a stitch.
. Repeat these instructions until all the gaps are filled.
. Use the main color
Starting on the right side (as shown in picture below):
Row 1: Join with sl st in the first dc space of half-square, ch1, 18 sc in the next stitches and spaces, sc in the first dc space after the corner, 18 sc across dc and spaces. Turn. Total of 38 (19 for each side)
Row 2: Ch1, sk 1, 16 sc, sk 2, 16 sc, sk1, sc in the ch space from previous row. Turn. Total of 34 (17 for each side)
Row 3: Ch1, sk 1, 14 sc, sk 2, 14 sc, sk1, sc in the ch space from previous row. Turn. Total of 30 (15 for each side)
Row 4: Ch1, sk 1, 12 sc, sk 2, 12 sc, sk1, sc in the ch space from previous row. Turn. Total of 26 (13 for each side)
Row 5: Ch1, sk 1, 10 sc, sk 2, 10 sc, sk1, sc in the ch space from previous row. Turn. Total of 22 (11 for each side)
Row 6: Ch1, sk 1, 8 sc, sk 2, 8 sc, sk1, sc in the ch space from previous row. Turn. Total of 18 (9 for each side)
Row 7: Ch1, sk 1, 6 sc, sk 2, 6 sc, sk1, sc in the ch space from previous row. Turn. Total of 14 (7 for each side)
Row 8: Ch1, sk 1, 4 sc, sk 2, 4 sc, sk1, sc in the ch space from previous row. Turn. Total of 10 (5 for each side)
Row 9: Ch1, sk 1, 2 sc, sk 2, 2 sc, sk1, sc in the ch space from previous row. Turn. Total of 6 (3 for each side)
Row 10: Ch1, 1 sc in the next 3 st, sl st in the next st. Fasten off
Yellow stitch marker shows the beginning of the filling, then continue across pink and blue, joining motifs between the blue and the pink markers position.
The final result will be like this, is ok if the fabric stays a little bit curly in the middle, it will become less noticeable after washing and blocking the blanket.
